The environmental service provider in Siberias biggest oil field
Clean Globe International founded its first environmental protection center East of the Ural Mountains in Siberia. The business operation of the Russian company Yukos Service Ecologia and its 250 employees, equipment and operational network transferred to Clean Globe Yugra, a joint venture between CGI and Russian companies. Environmental protection and oil spill response are daily performed tasks in the huge oil production territory of Nefteyugansk. Clean Globe Yugra’s operations consist of oil spill response, oil recovery, land remediation and cleaning oil storage tanks as well as service and maintenance of oil spill response equipment.
The operations are continuously made more efficient by using state-of-the-art technology. CGI acts as a network leader in this venture, collecting the best global know-how and technology and applying it locally.
The Nefteyugansk oil production region, one of the largest oil production regions in Russia, produces approx. 52 million tons crude oil annually. Every year about 150 new drilling holes are made in this vast area. When drilling for oil, a lot of oil drilling flakes, oil contaminated land and other by-products are formed, which are collected into basins in the vicinity of the drilling towers. Rosneft has outsourced the cleaning and reprocessing services to Clean Globe Yugra. Rather than removing contaminated sand and soil for disposal and replacing it with new materials, it is now possible to clean and remove the contaminants and remediate the area in less time and at a far lower cost.
