Clean Globe International together with its expert partner network offers significant improvement of stand by readiness in oil spill response on European Waters with contracts now on Baltic and Atlantic with European Maritime Safety Agency EMSA.
These EMSA agreements are a substantial addition to current EU member state response readiness, which secures a rapid and efficient response to oil spills. The attained contracts with EMSA also significantly support CGI’s drive for oil spill response Centers throughout Europe. As a result of these agreements, CGI operates a growing number of stockpile centers and pool of oil spill recovery vessels in strategically important locations along the European coastline.
CGI is clearly the preferred choice as the company which is able to provide the required expertise for EMSA. Our success on the Baltic is based on pre-fitting a pool of oil tankers, training oil spill responders to be on continuous readiness and equipping oil pollution response. Ingenious solutions to offshore oil spill response have proved its superiority e.g. during the Balex Delta oil spill response exercise held in Poland during September 7 – 9, 2006. Two of the five dedicated standby oil spill response vessels currently operating on the Baltic took part in the exercise, which was organized and conducted within the framework of the Helsinki Convention. EMSA exercises are organized regularly together with different environmental authorities and CGI.
Clean Globe International has a relationship based on mutual trust with EMSA and has the ability and drive to identify and form mutually beneficial and value adding partnerships.
CGI is currently in discussions with EMSA regarding additional capacity for Baltic, Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea areas. CGI is also looking for possibilities to add the new EU marine boarder areas of 2007 into the operations, i.e. the Black Sea and the Aegean Sea. EMSA will be able to benefit from CGI’s existing operations and partnerships in the CIS area, including chemical spill response in European waters, port security and waste management and marine training.
CGI can replicate the concept it now offers to EMSA anywhere in the world, where we see similar requirements and opportunities in setting up centers and supporting vessels to cover specific sea areas.
We believe that we can help combine the efforts of EMSA with those of CGI and our partners in Russia and CIS to form an EU, RU & CIS level international co-operation. The network of strategic partners will initially focus but will not be limited to oil spill recovery.
